Title I Program
Steel Valley School District receives federal funding through the Title I program enabling it to offer additional reading and math services to students in grades K-8. Students qualify for the program when they score “below basic” or “basic” on state approved assessments. Students who qualify for the program will receive a Title I School-Parent Compact that outlines what services the school will provide and how the parent and student will participate in the program. All Title I parents are encouraged to be active in the District’s parent involvement program. Parents should attend all PTO meetings, parent/teacher events and Title I family activities. By being an active parent, you can provide your child with a positive outlook towards education. Any questions regarding the Title I program should be directed to Director of Federal Programs: Brian Plichta, Assistant Superintendent (412) 464-3600 ext. 1503.
