SADD Service Project

The Steel Valley Student Council and SADD groups worked together for a service project to help collect small toys and hygiene items to send to needy children around the world.  Students and teachers donated a total of 237 items!  Students and teachers who donated will be getting donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts as a small token of thanks.

Steel Valley SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) students took their positive messages to the Munhall Halloween Parade on October 29th.

SAFETY SIMulator

Steel Valley SADD brought the SAFETY SIMulator to Steel Valley on November 13. Mr. Seech’s, Mr. Catterall’s, and Mr. Seaman’s sophomore social studies classes had the opportunity to try out the SIMulator. Training on the SIMulator helps students gain confidence in their ability as a driver and develop an appreciation for safety. Inexperience is the leading cause of crashes among teen drivers and the SAFETY SIMulator is one way to gain additional experience behind the wheel. The cost of the SAFETY SIMUlator program was paid for by the Allegheny County Alcohol Highway Safety Program/DUI Pretrial Services Department.

Steel Valley High School student, Breanna Lewis, takes a turn in the SAFETY SIMulator while Mrs. Pamela Wahal from the Allegheny County Alcohol Safety Program / DUI Pretrial Services Department gives her some advice on safe driving skills.

The driver of the vehicle also underwent a field sobriety test.

Steel Valley SADD students are the actors in the video. Videographers were Hannah Fallon and Chelsea Pearson and Ms. Jamie Dolton’s Video Production Class edited the video.

SV SADD students in the video are: Andrew Chuba, Alexis Lucas, Ally Snyder, Kristen Moten, Austin Riley, and Brandon Tomasic. Layla Phouthavong and Veronica Sikora were the make-up artists.
